Night had fallen mere minutes ago. Toothless had wandered away to procure dinner, and everything was silent. Until, that is, Jack woke as a shivery shudder went up his spine. He stood up cautiously and looked around, glancing down at Hiccup’s sleeping form. His eyes narrowed as he tried to pinpoint the source of the oh-so-familiar sensation, but as always the boy avoided his detection. He let out a troubled hum and sat down beside Hiccup, wary of anything his ‘friend’ might try with the boy nearby. And then, suddenly, there he was. “Hey cuz’. How’s it hangin’?”, said the boy that looked so extra
“Shut the door behind you, Potter.”, Snape ordered, and Harry did as he was told with a horrible feeling of imprisoning himself. When he turned back into the room, Snape had moved into the light and was pointing silently at the chair opposite his desk. Harry sat down and so did Snape, his cold black eyes fixed unblinkingly upon Harry with dislike etched in every line on his face. “Well, Potter, you know why you are here,”, he said, “The Headmaster has asked me to teach you Occlumency. I can only hope that you prove more adept at it than at Potions.”. “Right.”, Harry said tersely
Harry tentatively knocked on the door of Umbridge's office, somewhat earlier than usual. He was a bit peeved at having detention before dinner, but Umbridge had assigned so many that his simply had to be bumped up. A sickeningly sweet voice bid him to enter, so he pushed the door open and was momentarily blinded by the brightly lit, bright pink room. After his vision had returned (mostly), he sat down in front of a patiently waiting Umbridge. "I assume you know why you are here?", she asked, and Harry replied, "For telling the truth.". Her smile just a tad more strained than before, she took out a piece of parchment and a quill, sliding th
"Well. This is cozy.", Skeeter said with a sickening smile. Harry was a bit nervous, and more than a bit miffed, but she was only a reporter. How bad could she be? It’s not like she could - oh Wizard God, she had a Quick Quotes Quill. Herman had warned him about those. They were like Dictaquills, but they printed nothing you said truthfully. In fact, they pretty much made up their own sentences. With dread in his stomach, Harry watched her balance the quill on her notepad, and as she it was she began rapid-firing questions at him. Even though he wasn't even saying one word the quill was scribbling furiously, and Harry managed to catc
Every so often, a person will come,
A person like them you'll have seen none.
They'll be so perfect for you, and you for them,
That you'll realize you like them right there and then.
And if, by chance, you're single at the time,
And if, for some reason, you remember this rhyme,
You are guaranteed a long and happy life,
With this person that will cause you oh-so-much strife.

After lunch, her teacher announced that the school was holding a fire drill. When the alarm sounded, Carmen and the other students filed out of the classroom and assembled in the yard outside. As the teachers read out the roll call, the gang of five girls decided that this was a great opportunity to embarrass Carmen in front of the whole school during the fire drill. They moved over... to where Carmen was standing, near a sewer drain, and began crowding the poor girl, getting in her face and nudging her towards the open manhole.
They pushed her and she tripped over and fell head-first down the manhole. When they saw her falling, the girls st
